Research: OWL Based News Ontology
I am using the
Protege ontology editor
to design an ontology for representing a small subset of the knowledge contained
in news stories.

This OWL based ontology is (currently) fairly simple and
is intended to serve as part of a complete system:
- OWL based news ontology
- Modified KBtextmaster product to automatically generate
instances of the classes in this ontology from live news feeds.
- Descriptive logic based reasoning system for entailment
and to support a question answering demonstration system.
This work will be used in the future when I update the KBtextmaster product with
functionality to automatically extract RDF from plain text. The RDF extraction
fucntionality will be hand tailored to a few specific RDF Schemas and my limited
OWL ontologies.
